Tom Washburn was born in Midland, Texas, where his family attended the Ft. Worth and Jax Church of Christ. He attended Lubbock Christian College and graduated in 1983 with a B.A. in Biblical Studies. Tom began full-time ministry in 1979 as an Educational Minister intern with the Broadway Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas. In 1981, he became the Youth Minister of Fairmont Park Church of Christ. In 1984, Tom and his family moved to Portales, New Mexico, where he served as Youth Minister. They returned to Texas in 1992 to work with the South Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock. In 1993, Tom became an Associate Minister of the Sunset Church of Christ, also in Lubbock. In January, 2000, Tom and his family moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where he serves as our full-time Minister.
Tom is married to the former Julie Eakin of Midland, Texas. They have two boys, Trey and Preston.
